Call for Artists
John Gilluly

Thirty eight years ago I began to teach myself to put paint on canvas with the hope that I might capture loves I did not want to lose and places I did not want to forget. My style of paint application is derived from the neoimpressionist technique of pointillism. I use this to create contemporary representational images. I work in the environmentally friendly medium of acrylic paint. My work has been featured in juried exhibitions and is in private collections across the country.

We who toil in the creative traditions of representational art appear destined for extinction in a world where art is anything an artist calls art, and an artist is anyone who calls themselves such. I intend is to leave behind two dimensional glimpses of the best that I have seen.
