Visitors Center Display Cases

Artist Application and Info

As a part of our ongoing partnership with Powell Gardens, Summit Art has been assigned several of the display cases located within the Visitors Center to provide fine artwork for show and sale to Powell Gardens visitors.

·      Summit Art will retain this area for display from the end of April until the beginning of December 2025.

·      This will be a rotating display, which means that we will do a total change out of all art every 2-3 months. The exact schedule is yet to be determined.

·      When a piece of art sells, the artist will be responsible for bringing a new piece to the Garden to replace the sold piece. Replacement dates will be coordinated with Powell Gardens.

·      The curator, Barb Byrne, will keep a list of all art pieces and their prices to submit to Powell Gardens to enter into their purchasing system, so communication between artists and curator is crucial.

We will have a total of 12 display cases, each with a varying number of glass shelves. The cases are 23″ wide x 10” deep. We have approximately 60 shelves to fill – half will accommodate pieces that are 14” to 20” tall; the remaining half will accommodate pieces 10-11” tall or less. No piece can be wider than 20”.

Applications will be considered as they are received. Any Summit Art Juried Artist Member is eligible for this exhibition. All interested artists must complete the online application; there is no fee for the online application. You may submit up to ten (10) images/artworks for consideration.

Please include in the application the size dimensions listed exactly like this (Height x Width x Depth) and price for each submitted piece. All paintings, prints & reproductions must be matted, framed, & wired following gallery hanging guidelines (gallery-wrapped canvas and prints on metal are also acceptable). 3D artists are encouraged to apply. Jewelry should be displayed on pedestals for best showing. All pieces MUST be able to fit completely within and on the allotted shelf, including mat, frame and easel. You will need to bring your own small easels and any other items necessary to hold your pieces for the display. You will need to print out a Summit Art Gallery at Powell Gardens artwork label for each piece approved for display. ALL labels must be printed in color on white CARDSTOCK.

Deadline for submission is Friday, February 28, 2025. Selected artists will be notified of the specific artwork delivery and set up date which will likely be between April 1 - April 5, 2024.
