Workshop Description
This two-day workshop with Award-Winning Plein Air Artist Denny Dowdy offers artists of all levels the opportunity to explore watercolor from one of the most accomplished artists and instructors in the region. Dowdy has designed this workshop to be fun and informative for beginners to advanced watercolorists. Overlooking the stunning natural backdrop provided by John Knox Village, this workshop allows for an in depth exploration focused drawing and composition as well as various watercolor techniques. Students will complete 2-4 paintings over the two-day workshop.
This workshop is for all levels.
About Denny Dowdy
After attending the Colorado Institute of Art for Commercial Art, Denny worked several years in Pen & Ink illustration for Coca Cola. Years later, he decided to pursue watercolor more seriously. Since 2008, Denny’s art can be found hanging in private collections across the country. When he discovered En Plein Air competitions in 2015 he knew he had found his ‘community’.He now competes in about 15 Plein Air competitions a year.

Bring your own brushes and paint:

Water container
Board (to paint on), bigger than your paper
1” masking tape
Small spritzer bottle ·
Quality sheets of watercolor paper quartered to approximately 11” x 15” (at least 8 sheets)
