I am a self-taught mixed media artist specializing in collage work created with torn painted papers. I am drawn to bright colors and contrasts and literally dance when beautiful placements and marks appear as I work. I am continually studying new techniques and ideas with the goal of refining and perfecting my style as I learn.
My studio is in my home and filled to the brim with supplies, projects and ideas. I have created commissioned pieces, and simply for the joy of the process. My works are created with acrylic paints and inks, old book pages and ledgers, painted papers from gel plates, stencils, ascemic writing, soft pastels, charcoal and watercolor pencils. Sometimes a sewing machine is involved.
My hope is that my art moves the viewer by connecting them with meaningful colors and images. Whether a bright or soft creation, my goal is to draw the viewer into the color and marks that make the piece whole. Since I dance to beauty when I see it, I hope viewers of my art might do the same, wildly, quietly, or anywhere in between.
My art has been on display at the Summit Art Members Art show, and always on the walls of my home.
