Philip studied art at the Kansas City Art Institute and was a long-time student of famous Midwest artist Bob Byerly. Philip was a commercial airbrush artist for over 50 years. His passion has always been oil painting.

“My canvas paintings begin with a light drawing and then slowly build thin layers of paint, much the way the old masters painted.” Phil is now a full-time oil painter showing and selling his work, in the Midwest and south areas of the US.
