Ryan Delgado is a representational realist painter from Kansas City, Missouri, and is currently living in Greenwood, Missouri.  He attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Painting. His traditional, indirect technique as a figurative and portrait painter is greatly influenced by the techniques of Old Masters from the 17th through the 19th centuries.  Using the finest materials at his disposal, Ryan slowly builds up his paintings layer by layer, from an initial imprimatura underpainting to the final glazes and scumbled highlights.  Every painting is a methodical and calculated effort from its conception to the signature.

Ryan has previously held memberships with the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society, the Missouri Valley Impressionist Society, and Summit Art.  He has shown his work in national exhibitions in Missouri, Kansas, Texas, and Maryland, and has been featured in exhibitions in the Kansas City area since 2010.  His work has been acquired by national and international private collectors, including those in Great Britain, Canada, and Israel.

Ryan has been a guest speaker for fine arts organizations in the Kansas City area, and has previously taught his representational oil painting techniques in private workshops and classes.
