Welcome to the Summit Art

Speaking at the July meeting:

Nancy Sullivan

Nancy received her Framing Certification from the American Picture Framing Academy in 2006 and in 2007 set up her studio in the basement of her home.

Nancy had the wonderful opportunity to study under two Masters in the picture framing industry; Nona Powers, author in Decor Magazine and Marty Horowitz, know for his water gilding techniques.

The goal for the presentation will be to share with you information and techniques to help you frame your art in a professional matter and thus enhance your sales. The following subjects will be covered.

Color and Design. How do you know which color of mat and frame best displays your art?

How to avoid over cuts, under cuts and wavy cuts. Most of our time together will be spent covering this topic. Nancy will bring a mat cutter to show you hands on the tricks on the trade.

Lastly, she will talk about the importance of finishing your framed piece to make it look professionally framed.

Nancy enjoys educating people on how to protect their art and the correct design to catch the attention of potential buyers.

"As an artist, I know the challenges of cost but I also know the power of an image correctly framed."

Art will remain in a person's home forever. It out lives cars, houses, and even one's life. Families grab pictures and art when their loved ones leave this world. Art tells a story of where we have been, where we are today and where we are headed. It becomes a part of the mind & soul.
